Abstract: In this work, the production of xylo-oligossacharides was performed form corn residues, using a hydrothermal pretretment with microwave heating processing. A prticle size of the raw material (2mm) was selected to perform the pretreatments under different conditions of resident time (10, 30 and 50 min), temperature (150, 165 and 180 °C) and a solid/liquid ratio (w/v) of 1:10, 1:15 and 1:20. The amount of reducing sugar in the hydrolysates (liquid phase) after the treatment was determined.
